Gender Difference of Residual Psychopathology for Chronic Schizophrenia Patients in Stable Period£ºComparison to K-PANSS Subscale and K-BDI, K-BAI

Abstract
Objectives£ºPurpose of this article is finding gender difference of residual psychopathology for chronic schizophrenia patients in stable period.

Methods£º104 Outpatients which have visited Chun Cheon National hospital outpatient clinic were selected that they are Chronic schizophrenia patients in stable period. Subjects were examined Korean Version of the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale (K-PANSS), Korean version of Beck Depressive Inventory (K-BDI) and Korean version of Beck Anxiety Inventory (K-BAI). Then K-PANSS subscale score and K-BDI, K-BAI total score were compared between male and female.

Results£ºIn K-PANSS positive symptom scale, Male patients are higher in excitement, suspiciousness/persecution then female is higher in grandiosity. There is no difference in total score. whereas, male patients is higher in blunted affect, emotional withdrawal and total score of K-PANSS negative symptom scale. In K-PANSS general symptom scale, male paitents are higher in poor attention, disturbance of volition, poor impulse control then female is higher in anxiety, depression, motor retardation.

Conclusion£º In chronic Schizophrenia patients in stable period, There is gender difference in residual psychopathology.
